Dakota Access pipeline court battle to linger into new year

A federal court battle over whether the developer of the Dakota Access oil pipeline can finish the $3.8 billion project will linger at least into the first couple months of the new year. Texas-based Energy Transfer Partners last month asked U.S. District Judge James Boasberg to declare it can legally lay pipe under a Missouri River reservoir in North Dakota - the last remaining large chunk of construction on the 1,200-mile, four-state pipeline to move North Dakota oil to a shipping point in Illinois.

Northern Plains UAS Test Site Supports Advanced Testing at Denver International Airport

The Northern Plains Unmanned Aircraft Systems Test Site recently supported the Federal Aviation Administration in their assessment of techniques and technologies to detect Unmanned Aircraft Systems in and around airports as part of its Pathfinder Program - UAS Detection and Mitigation at Airports and Critical Infrastructure. The collaborative assessment, which occurred on Nov. 11-18, was hosted at the Denver International Airport with a dozen different flights conducted under an FAA-issued Certification of Authorization or Waiver granted to the Northern Plains UAS Test Site.
